What is Chainlink?
Chainlink is a network agnostic network which enables smart contracts to access off-chain data in a secure and decentralized manner. This functionality is critical for the adoption and growth of blockchain technology in various industries.
What is LINK?
LINK is the native cryptocurrency token of the Chainlink network, which has been tradable since the 20th of September, 2017 and can be purchased on markets that are indicated at on Coingecko. Node operators are incentivized to provide accurate and reliable data because they earn LINK tokens as payment. Smart contract creators also need to hold LINK tokens to use Chainlink’s services, such as creating and managing oracle contracts.
LINK token holders can stake their LINK tokens on ETH mainnet to passively earn more LINK, delegating them to the Chainlink network.
